Recycled leather is animal leather that has already served a first purpose, processed to be reused in a new product without the need for additional livestock or new leather.

At IKO:NOTT, it is certified GRS (Global Recycled Standard), the international standard that guarantees that “recycled leather” is not just a marketing claim: it ensures full traceability from the source material to the finished product, verifies the actual recycled content, and ensures compliance with social and environmental criteria throughout the entire supply chain.

Most often, it comes from dormant inventory at major leather goods companies leather that has already been produced but never used! It can also come from scraps of leather goods or furniture. This leather is ground up and then reconstituted without solvents, using plant-based fibers. It comes from France, Italy, or Spain.

Yes. It's genuine leather, not faux leather or a synthetic material, it's simply recycled rather than newly manufactured.
